What we do on the land can affect our marine environment.  That is the
motto of The Stream Team, a community organization supported jointly
by Division of Environmental Quality and Marianas RC&D.

Eroded sediment and other pollutants from even the most remote
locations of our islands are carried by storm runoff into streams, to be
ultimately deposited in our coastal waters. These processes, which are
strongly affected by land use practices, play a significant role in
determining the quality of our beaches, coral reefs, and fish populations.

Members of the Stream Team participate in stream water quality
monitoring, stream cleanups, degraded stream restoration, and public
outreach.

If you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to call us at 236-0894.

Scientific data will be made available on this website as it is gathered in
the field.
